Volunteers

Get involved...

There are so many ways to get involved at Holyrood, and every role helps strengthen our community. You might enjoy being a Community Listener, chatting with neighbours and helping us understand what matters most to residents. You could support events by lending a hand on the day, or help spread the word by delivering leaflets and sharing updates online.

Some volunteers prefer quieter roles, like taking notes at meetings or keeping an eye out for estate issues such as lighting or maintenance concerns. Others enjoy reaching out to local businesses, helping with fundraising, or assisting with small grant applications.

Creative residents can contribute to the website, photography, or design, while those passionate about our past can help collect stories and memories for our heritage work.

And if you simply enjoy connecting people, you can become a Community Connector, helping neighbours feel welcome and included.

However you choose to help, your time and energy make a real difference.

Volunteer Opportunities

HEART is a brand‑new idea for Holyrood Estate — created by residents, for residents. We’re just getting started, and this is the moment where your involvement can shape what the group becomes. Whether you’re a tenant, leaseholder, or simply someone who calls Holyrood home, we need people who care about the estate and want to help make it stronger. We’re looking for volunteers, members, and committee voices to join us as we build something positive from the ground up. You don’t need experience or special skills — just a willingness to get involved and help your community grow. Together, we can turn this new idea into something meaningful for everyone who lives here.

Safe and Inclusive Environment

HEART is committed to making Holyrood Estate a place where everyone feels welcome, respected, and safe. We believe that every resident — whether a tenant, leaseholder, or someone living with family — deserves to be treated with kindness and dignity. Our group is open to all, regardless of background, age, culture, identity, or experience. We listen without judgement, value every voice, and work to create an environment where people can speak openly and feel supported. By looking out for one another and celebrating what makes each of us unique, we can build a community where everyone belongs and no one feels left out.

Community Support Services

HEART offers friendly, practical support for anyone living on Holyrood Estate. We’re here to listen, share information, help residents navigate council issues, and connect people with the right services when needed. Whether it’s a quick chat, a bit of neighbourly help, or bringing people together through small events, our aim is to make the estate feel more supportive, connected, and welcoming for everyone.

Volunteer Requirements

Volunteering with HEART is open to any resident aged 18 or over who wants to help shape the future of Holyrood Estate. You don’t need special skills or experience — just kindness, reliability, and a willingness to get involved. Adults can take on a wide range of roles, from general volunteering to becoming a member or even joining the committee to help guide the direction of the group. We welcome people with all kinds of strengths, whether that’s listening to neighbours, helping at events, supporting meetings, or offering practical help around the estate.

We also recognise that younger residents have so much to offer. While formal volunteering and committee roles are for over‑18s, we’d love young people to get involved in creative ways — especially with social media, photography, design, and helping us share positive stories about the estate. Their energy and digital skills can make a huge difference in how we connect with the community.

Whoever you are, and whatever time you can give, HEART has a place for you. Your involvement helps build a safer, stronger, and more connected Holyrood for everyone.
