On an estate like Holyrood, helping each other isn’t just a nice idea — it’s what makes everyday life feel lighter, safer, and more connected. When neighbours look out for one another, even in small ways, the whole community becomes stronger.
Helping each other can be simple: checking in on someone who lives alone, sharing information about repairs, offering a hand with shopping, or just saying hello in the corridor. These small acts build trust. They remind us that we’re not isolated flats or separate households — we’re part of a shared place, with shared challenges and shared hopes.
HEART is built on that belief. We don’t need to wait for big changes or official decisions to make life better here. Every time we support a neighbour, listen to someone’s worry, or offer a bit of kindness, we’re already shaping the kind of community we want Holyrood to be.
Helping each other is how strong communities begin. It’s how HEART begins too.
HEART exists to bring Holyrood Estate together by building a stronger, more connected, and more supportive community. Our mission is to give every resident a voice, encourage neighbour‑to‑neighbour support, and work collaboratively to create a safer, fairer, and more positive place to live.
Leaseholders are an important part of the Holyrood community. Many have invested in their homes and want clarity, fairness, and transparency around service charges, major works, and estate management. HEART aims to support leaseholders by creating a space where concerns can be shared, information can be exchanged, and collective voices can be heard. Whether you’re a long‑term owner or recently moved in, you’re welcome — and your experiences matter to the future of the estate.
Tenants play a central role in the life of Holyrood Estate. Many have made their homes here for years, raising families, supporting neighbours, and helping shape the character of the community. HEART is here to support tenants by offering a place where concerns can be shared, voices can be heard, and everyday issues can be addressed together. Whether you’ve just moved in or have lived here for decades, you’re a valued part of Holyrood — and your experiences matter.
HEART is a completely independent, resident‑led group. We are not part of Southampton City Council and we don’t work for them — our purpose is to represent the voices, concerns, and experiences of the people who live on Holyrood Estate. Being independent means we can speak openly, raise issues collectively, and work constructively with the council while still putting residents first. Our loyalty is to the community, not to any organisation.
HEART is for the whole of Holyrood Estate, and that includes our younger residents just as much as long‑term neighbours. Whether you’re 18 or 80, renting your first flat or raising a family, your voice matters and your ideas can help shape something real.
We’re building a group where everyone is welcome — no judgement, no expectations, no need for experience. If you care about the estate, want to meet people, or simply want to make things a bit better around here, HEART is a place for you. Younger residents bring energy, creativity, and fresh perspectives; older residents bring experience, insight, and stability. Together, that mix is powerful.
Getting involved doesn’t mean taking on big responsibilities. It can be as simple as sharing your thoughts, helping at an event, joining a meeting, or just being part of the conversation. HEART grows stronger every time someone new steps forward.
This is your community. This is your chance to shape it. And whoever you are, you’re welcome here.
Local businesses are an important part of the Holyrood community, and their support can make a real difference as HEART begins to grow. Whether it’s a small donation, printing help, space for meetings, or simply spreading the word, sponsorship from local shops and services helps us build a stronger, more connected estate. We welcome support from any business that wants to invest in the community — big or small — and we’re grateful for every contribution that helps HEART take its next steps.
Volunteers are the driving force behind HEART. Every bit of time, energy, or enthusiasm offered by residents helps shape the future of Holyrood Estate. Whether someone can help with organising, communication, events, or simply sharing ideas, every contribution matters. HEART is built by the people who step forward, support their neighbours, and believe in creating a stronger community. However much you can give — big or small — you’re valued, appreciated, and always welcome.
One of the easiest ways to support HEART is simply by telling others about it. Sharing the idea with neighbours, friends, or anyone living on Holyrood helps us reach more people and build a stronger, more connected community. Whether it’s a quick chat in the lift, a message online, or mentioning it to someone new, every conversation helps HEART grow. The more people who know about us, the more voices we can bring together — and every voice matters.
HEART believes that a safer, more confident community comes from working with local police, not against them. By building positive relationships, sharing concerns, and encouraging open communication, we can help ensure that issues on the estate are taken seriously and responded to quickly. Joining forces doesn’t mean giving up our independence — it means creating a partnership that benefits residents, supports neighbourhood safety, and strengthens trust. When the community and police work together, everyone gains.
One of the most positive things that can grow from HEART is the chance to build new friendships across the estate. Meeting neighbours, sharing experiences, and finding common ground can make Holyrood feel more welcoming and connected. Whether it’s chatting at an event, helping out with a project, or simply saying hello, every small interaction can spark a new connection. HEART is here to create those moments — a space where people can meet, support each other, and turn neighbours into friends.
Holyrood Estate is home to people from many backgrounds, cultures, and walks of life — and that diversity is one of our greatest strengths. HEART welcomes everyone, recognising that each resident brings their own experiences, perspectives, and stories to the community. By valuing our differences and learning from one another, we can build a more open, understanding, and connected estate. Whoever you are and wherever you come from, you belong here.
We’d love to organise events across Holyrood Estate — things that bring people together, create a sense of pride, and make the estate feel more connected. With enough support, we can raise funds, seek sponsorship from local businesses, and even apply for small community grants to make these ideas a reality. But none of it can happen without residents getting involved. If you want to see activities, gatherings, or projects on the estate, your help and enthusiasm are what will bring them to life.
